10 Reasons Full Figured Fashion Week™ Matters

The time is drawing closer to the kickoff of the premier plus-size event of the year, Full Figured Fashion Week™.  As I put the finishing touches on getting ready to head to New York I began to think about how important an event like this is and what it means to the full figured/plus-size community as a whole.  Overall, I think that it is important because it lets the world know that we not only know how to do it but do it in a classy professional way.

1. Full Figured Fashion Week™ allows models to get exposure and experience they may not have previously obtained
2. Full Figured Fashion Week™ showcases designers who target the full figured community in ways mainstream fashion has failed
3. Full Figured Fashion Week™ brought together a collection of bloggers the Curvy Collective to report on the weeks activities better than traditional sources
4. Full Figured Fashion Week™ allows the full figured/plus-size community to see events held for them staffed with people like them
5. Full Figured Fashion Week™ discusses social issues that the full figured/plus-size community is talking about
6. Full Figured Fashion Week™ allows business owners like myself to share ideas with other business owners and those looking to start a business
7. Full Figured Fashion Week™ is a networking goldmine allowing some of the best and brightest minds to collaborate on many different topics
8. Full Figured Fashion Week™ is the brain child of founder/creator Gwen DeVoe who filled a void that others could not
9. Full Figured Fashion Week™ brings together every aspect of the full figured/plus-size community and serves as a launchpad for future projects

The PLUS Side of Business includes a panel of business owners (A Retailer, Fashion Show Production Company, Public Relations Expert, Plus Size Blogger and Editor-in-Chief of a Plus Size Magazine) who will share their experiences of running successful businesses that service the plus size woman/man. The panelists will share with the attendees the resources and information that they have used to create and maintain their respective businesses.
