There has been talk from the usual critics that the spotlight on plus size anything is just a fad. I respectfully disagree and have a few ideas of my own to throw into the mix to back up my words. If you have any that you would like to add feel free to join the conversation.

- Up until Twiggy came along in the 1960′s size between a 14-18 were common
- Lane Bryant
opened their doors in 1901!
- Men have always desired curvy stacked women
- Both men and women are larger today than in decades past
- Size acceptance is a civil right all should have regardless of size
- The number of plus size fashion designers increases steadily by the year
- Ground breaking events like Full Figured Fashion Week™ continue to break new ground
- Blogs like Full Figure Plus exist
There are several other things that come to mind such as making sure our voice is being heard but the previous reasons are the top of the list. Of course the main reason the critics feel that plus size is a fad is that they don’t want to admit that larger individuals will not be silenced and we know that our community is strong.
I agree with every last one of those and I never knew that Lane Bryant has been open since 1901! Fat is definitely not a fad
