Do you get frustrated when your clothes that you spent your hard earned money on get stained or worse? If you are like me then you try to prevent the stains in the first place but when the inevitable stain happens what can you do? Below are tips to fight stains as well as general laundry care tips.

- Wash your clothes in cold water hot water will set the stain permanently
- If you notice a stain rewash the garment
- Do not dry clothes on high
- Dry clothes on the clothes line outside (My personal recommendation)
- Use detergent that is free and clear of color and perfumed scents
- Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the wash to increase the stain fighting properties of bleach
- Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle instead of fabric softener (Helps people with sensitive skin)
- Wash delicate in a laundry bag
- Read the label
- Used Greased Lighting as a laundry pre-treat (My personal recommendation)
Some of these tips may be new others may not be but when it comes to taking care of your wardrobe you can’t be to careful.
Bonus Tip: Wash bright colors inside out to prevent fading

Well, I’m quite proud to say that I do the majority of those on a regular basis ;o), that vinegar as a rinse tip is gold – just don’t go overboard or the smell might be a little strong when they’re dry.
Great tips, most I knew but one or two I didn’t. I have also heard that Coca Cola can also help. Strange I know, anyone else heard of this?
Mrs. T.
I have never heard of using Coca Cola as a stain cleaner I will have to do some research on this one. Thanks for the tip!
Also, if you do laundry in your own home try doing it after 7 p.m. to save on energy costs.
