One of the responsibilities of writing for a blog that concentrates on shopping and fashion is to pass along tips that can help readers save money.  It is hard enough for plus size and big and tall individuals to shop as is without having to spend money they some do not have.  A few helpful tips, some that are not new to longtime readers, are not only smart but can help you get through the recession and still look good.

1. Shop off season when the prices are generally lower.  FYI: It’s time to start shopping for Spring/Summer.
2. Shop with merchants that offer free shipping.
3. Combine discount offers where applicable. (Not available with all merchants)
4. Check to see if coupons are available to print out BEFORE you go shopping.
5. Shop online it will save you a tank of gas.
6. Join a website like Size Exchange.
7. Shop at consignment stores.
8. Shop in friends and family members closets.
9. Buy items that can be easily mixed and matched.
10. Make one or two big purchases per year instead of many small purchases.

As you can see most of these tips are just common sense.  Many of you are already doing these things without giving it a second thought.  Shopping online is still experiencing a lot of growth and is still one of the most reccommend methods to find bargains and save money.  Do you have some additional tips to offer?  I would love to hear them.
