5 Easy Tips To Properly Tie a Sarong
Yesterday I covered using a sarong as a skirt. Today the tips cover tying a sarong in the traditional way. Its very easy to do and before you know it you will be tying your sarong wrap like a professional.
- Wrap the sarong around you, holding both sides in front of you, to which ever side you are going to tie the knot.
- Fold the right side away from your body, folding to the outside. The inside of your sarong will be facing your body, fold it to your desired width. Side Note: To keep your sarong looking smooth when your done be sure to fold away from your body.
- Make a dog ear fold with the fold on the right side with your fist. Repeat on the left side.
- With both dog ear folds in your fists, tie the folds at your waist, adjusting to your body shape, and height.
- Fluff out the fringes, so the sarong lies smooth, and look the most flattering.
Depending on your tastes you can wear the knot either in the front or to either side. I hope that these tips help you with tying your sarong up. If you have any additional tips comment about it.

There are quite a few ways of tying a sarong or towelini on the towelini website. I like the cape style because it protects my shoulders from the sun.
