Watching ladies drool over shoes is quite a sight to behold. I recently witnessed these ladies talking about cute shoes, sexy shoes, special occasion shoes and some other things. For the most part I didn’t pay much attention to their conversation until they started talking about being big and the types of shoes that they wear.
The one thing that stood out was the conversation involving cute shoes that are worn with a specific outfit and then once they get to where they were going they would slip out of those shoes. And even later on once they got home there feet would be in pain. Now this puzzled me, because it really made no sense to me that having a good looking shoe meant dealing with discomfort and pain. But on the other hand when it comes to being plus size in a lot of cases ladies have to deal with what they can find instead of what is meant for their size. Also I am just a man and will never truly understand the shoe fetish that some ladies have.
Listening to theses ladies relay there thoughts on getting shoes and being fat as they called it was a treat for me. They where willing to endure whatever pain necessary in order to have the perfect shoe to go with that certain outfit or for that special occasion. When I asked wouldn’t it be better to have a comfortable shoe that maybe wasn’t as trendy, I was given the “You just don’t understand” look. I quickly left that battle alone. Knowing when to gracefully back out has its advantages.
Just like with clothes there is a shortage of trendy shoes for plus size women. Things are getting better but there is still and uphill battle that women of size that have to deal with. One store that has really stepped up the game when it comes to shoes for big and wider sizes is Payless Shoes. The quality of their shoes has grown by leaps and bounds over they years and they carry big and wide sizes in all the fashionable sizes.
My encounter with these women made me think about blogging more about shoes especially trendy shoes and basic tips that will help ladies find the shoes that they want and still be comfortable in them.
