2007 Perspective

As I come to the close of three years writing for Full Figure Plus looking at my blog stats revealed some interesting things.  Including this post there were 572 total posts for the year.  There are still not as many comments as I would like, but 2,288,097 visitors viewed content in various categories that I will list in a separate post which means that even without the comments people are reading and taking action from what I write.

Enrolling in college to finish a degree that I started in 1985 has also had a positive impact on my blog activity.  I feel more confident about words that write than ever before.  The break that I was able to take back in the summer thanks to Corrina allowed me to concentrate on classwork and rewire my typing fingers.

Full Figured Fashion Week™ Los Angeles: A Time For West Coast Plus Fashionistas to Shine

Two years in New York now it is time for Full Figured Fashion Week™ to hit the West Coast.  Just like I was there to witness and be a part of the first event in New York I am going to pack the blog up and head to Los Angeles.  If you missed the NYC activities you have a second chance to see history in the making!

Gwen DeVoe worked for decades to get full-figured fashion, models and designers respect and attention in the fashion industry. This past June she landed major international coverage for the second annual Full Figured Fashion Week™–from a front-page piece in The New York Times to dispatches on dozens of fatshion blogs and magazines that cover fashion trends for women size 14 and up. Today, DeVoe announced the fall launch of Full Figured Fashion Week™ Los Angeles from October 28th-30th, 2010.

10 Questions with Full Figure Plus Blogger – Glen Johnson

I am starting a new series in which I plan to interview many individuals within the plus community to get some general information as well as some things more specific.  The goal of this series is to provide readers across the blogsphere a candid look at those they read about on blogs, in magazines, etc.  To begin with I thought I would focus the light on myself to let you know a few things about me you may already know and some you may not.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks to read about some of the names you know already and a few surprises!  Before I forget don’t forget to sign up for the Full Figured Newsletter for a chance to win a copy of the Curvy Girls Guide to Style!

Where are you from?

The State Of The Plus-Size Community

Lately Full Figure Plus has been focusing on a few specific areas of the plus community.  Today it is time to look at the plus size community as a whole to see after almost six years of blog posts what has changed what has stayed the same and what dare I say has gotten worse.  When it comes to the big picture I think for the most part things have gotten better and that we have a lot to cheer about but that is not to say there is not plenty of room for improvement.

Vote Full Figure Plus Plus Size Blog of the Year

This is one of the times that I need your help.  The activities of Full Figured Fashion Week™ are starting to heat up and this year an awards show has been added and Full Figure Plus has been nominated in the FFF Week awards in the category of “plus blog of the year.”   There are several other categories as well so after you vote for Full Figure Plus as the best blog be sure to vote for the individuals in the other categories.

Gwen Devoe and the entire staff of Full Figured Fashion Week™ are making history again by recognizing individuals who have poured everything into showing the world what the plus community has to offer.  Even if these awards never happened to be mentioned in the same sentence as some of the other nominees is a massive honor.

I Blog About Plus Size Fashion And Love Those I Serve

When I think about this blog and what it means to me I really never think about me personally, because lets face it I am not woman nor do I play one on the Internet, but I wanted to help out my plus size bride and at the same time help others.  Even if this had not turned into a way to support my family I would still write about things plus size.

As a result of the activities of this blog I have had the chance to meet several great ladies and a few gentlemen that have impacted my life in ways that are still being revealed to me.  As a writer I have grown as a business owner I have grown and I feel as a servant to the plus size community I have grown.  That growth has mainly come from realizing as much as I work at making Full Figure Plus a success it is not about me.  The success of this blog is about you the readers and those that support blogs like this all over the Internet.
