Plus Size Fashion Shopping Tips

Over the weekend me and my wife, well mostly my wife was trying to find me some more appropriate clothes to wear when I am out and about. My travel business is picking up meaning that I am meeting with clients face to face more. Blogging does not require me to meet with a lot of people but travel does so she has in mind how she wants me to look. We looked at several big and tall men’s stores and found quite a bit that I liked. The best part about browsing these websites was that I could shop from the comfort of my desk.

This year I am going to do something different.  Normally I concentrate on women’s fashion when it comes to predictions for the upcoming season.  With men’s fashion becoming more popular these days it’s time to give the men some attention for Fall/Winter 2007.

Expect to see a fitted look without a jacket and more sweaters, particularly knit.  The overall look for men is going to go back to a traditional more gentleman like look that will include v-necks and more turtlenecks.

It says something if the report Plus-Size and big and tall Clothing in the U.S. is a not only a 290-page document, but to obtain a copy a person or company would have to pay between 3-6 thousand dollars to download the report. On the surface this number may seem astronomical until you look at the facts:

• The combined worth of plus size/big and tall spending in 2006 was $76 billion dollars
• $47 billion of that came from the plus size or women’s side.
• Projections for 2012 are $104 billion with $65 billion coming from plus size and $46 billion from the big and tall side.

It’s cold all over the country but in the clothing world its already hot. The Spring fashions have started to come out. Now is the best time to buy while the prices are low. The closer to Spring we get the higher prices will be.
