Has Plus Size Blogging Made a Difference?
In seven days Full Figure Plus will turn four years old. There have been a lot of changes that this blog has gone through over that time but the one thing that has remained constant is the drive to bring the most information possible to plus size women and big and tall men in regard to fashion and the internet.
The one question that comes to my mind is “Has plus size blogging really made a difference or is this the way that things would have happened even without blogging”?
How Plus Sizers Use Google
Google is always coming out with some new tool to help people figure out how searches are done on the Internet. The latest gadget Google Insights lets you enter a keyword to see the interest in that word over a 30 day period. As a blogger and business owner I am interested in these types of numbers to help me deliver the best content possible to you the reader.
As you already know I put in the words “plus size fashion” in the category of shopping to see the results. I was not surprised at a dip in the number of searches during the beginning of August which is the middle of back to school were most parents don’t have the time to sit down at a computer.
Plus Size Blogging: Sound Ethics or Whiny Finger Pointing
The question just popped into my head, “is plus size blogging ethically correct or is it just frustrated whining?” How I come to this question is reflecting on some of the blogs that I have read over the years have dealt with different subjects but seem to have a similar theme of frustration and finger pointing. Basically, regular people that want to get their point across in the area of size acceptance but chose to do it in an in your face style. Is that the message that we plus bloggers what to get across or is it our duty as writers to be responsible to our readers by not always trying to add fuel to the fire?
Stand Alone Domains Allow Bloggers Unfiltered Freedom of Speech
After reading the AP article, “Rights like free speech do not always extend online” in which popular websites frequently delete massive amounts of user generated content that is in “violation” of company terms of service I am reminded of the fact that I can spend hours creating a blog on a website have a great following and every bit of the content can be deleted without so much as an email telling me why.

Summertime Blogging Blues
In the years that I have been blogging about all things plus size I have covered more topics than I remember. One thing that happens every summer is that I get to the point that typing becomes a chore.
Last summer I was lucky enough to have a guest blogger Corinna to help me out while I took a break to concentrate on classwork. This summer I have not considered taking time off though as I compose this post I am seriously thinking of it. As my blog has grown so has the amount of attention that the different aspects of keeping things running smoothly require.
