Chocolate Siztaz Writing Contest - Press Release
As a blogger I will always have a soft spot for writers. There is nothing more cool than coming across writers and contests that are openly willing to feature full-figured stories. Such a contest is on the horizon. Check out the details below:
Chocolate Siztas, Sacramento’s premier hosts of programs and events for the full-figured community, has opened a call for submissions for its two upcoming anthologies.
1) Insatiable is an erotic anthology. Stories must prominently feature full-figured characters and themes. Stories should be between 2,500 and 3,500 words long and must not be strictly full of sex, but have a plot and real characted development. Work that disrespects the full figured will not be accepted.
Not Even If You Begged - Book Review
Recently author Francis Ray contacted me to inform me about her latest book entitled “Not Even If He Begged.” Thanks Francis! I look forward to attending your book signing when you get to Little Rock. What caught my eye was that one of the central characters in the book is a full figured young lady by the name of Traci. Francis was nice enough to send me an autographed copy of her book. I just finished reading it last night. Per my promise I would write my opinion of this newly released work.
I was hooked from just reading the synopsis on the tear sheet.
Bridal Planning for plus size ladies
One of the things that I like to do is read. Since I started blogging about fashion and other things related to plus size men and women I have come across a few authors that are writing things specifically for larger individuals.
In a press release for the website Elegant Plus which I have blogged about in the past I looked in there “About Us” section and came across there bridal editor Chamein Canton.
An upcoming book about the fat experience
Stacy Bias, the creator of Fatgirl Speaks, is writing a book about the fat experience and needs the assistance of other plus size ladies.
“a book-in-progress with the working title “FatGirl Speaks”, will consist of a series of monologues suitable for stage performance, all around the topic of fat. Bias intends to interview 150+ women of size, all across the United States, and in Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa, Samoa, Asia, India and South America. Bias will be filming her journey in road-diary style, as well as recording audio of all interviews.”
Reading for plus sizes
I have always been a person that loves to read and I have recently got into finding books related to plus size issues and everyday items here are a few that I have enjoyed and thought that I would pass the word on about them.
- Carrying a Little Extra: A Guide to Healthy Pregnancy for the Plus-Size Woman
- Sewing for plus sizes: Creating Clothes that Fit and Flatter

Being Plus Size and your body image
One of the major concerns when it comes to plus size women is the image of themselves. A quandary comes into play when a woman is disgusted with her look but the man that she is dating absolutely worships the ground that she walks on because of all her hips and curves.
This is something that I personally see each and every day in my marriage. My wife is a size 20 and to me she is the absolute most beautiful woman on the face of the earth. But I also know that deep down she may not be as totally proud of her hips and curves.
