Over the years several posts have been dedicated to making sure that you have not only a proper fitting bra but enough bras to fit your needs.  Such things as not wearing your bra to often between washing and being fitted if your weight increases or decreases but what if you had the chance for a bra makeover?  You read right – a bra makeover.

N-fini Shape-wear and The Plus Size Sihouette

Lately I have been doing a bit of research into shape-wear to find out some of the ins and outs of this piece of clothing and to see how it would be beneficial to the typical plus size woman or big and tall man.  The conclusion I have reached is that shape-wear should not be viewed as a diet or weight-loss tool but as a way to make the clothes you purchase look better on you.

Designed with elegant attire in mind. It gives the ultimate support to your sultriest evening clothes and special occasion dresses. Fashioned from fabric that is thin and sheer. The extra support is knitted into the glamorous Jacquard lace patterns so even the silkiest fabrics will drape elegantly.

Made with LYCRA® freshFX® fabric with moisture management that keeps you cool and a specially engineered LYCRA® fiber that brings superior feel, comfort, sheerness, shaping and control. You can finally wear foundations that suit the style. It’s your look, only customized. You’ll be in complete control in even the sleekest dresses!

Lane Bryant’s Cacique Sale Plus Media Discrimination

Over the last week there has been a lot of talk about the Cacique lingerieicon television ad produced by Lane Bryant and the discrimination by ABC whose parent company is Disney and FOX. One side of the argument is that the mainstream media treated Lane Bryant differently from straight size lingerie companies like Vctoria Secret. On the other side the networks are saying they rejected the ads which were set to air during American Idol because they are too racy and show “too much cleavage”

Plus Size Lingerie Meets Microfiber

One thing I often hear from my wife in regard to wearing panties is that comfort for her will trump fashion in every case. Cotton is hands down her favorite type of fabric. She is about to get a surprise I am going to buy her some of the new microfiber panties from plus size lingerie expert Hips and Curves.

Microfiber Stretch Lace Babydoll

Micorfiber is very elastic, strong, and dries quickly meaning that there will be little chance of getting a rash down there due to the material rubbing to hard against your skin. Whether its panties or like the babydoll in the photo you can be sure lingerie made from this durable material will mean your lingerie will stand the test of time.  With Microfiber only being in use in the clothing industry less than ten years I can understand how some would be reluctant, like my wife, to try something new.  But if there is a chance to try a material that will cut down on skin irritation while at the same time offering comfort is it not worth it to give it a try?

Squeem Shapewear – Product Review

When it comes to looking your best when being plus size it is the things that are not as readily visible that make the difference in you looking your best.  Recently the fine folks from SQUEEM Shapewear sent me some samples of their products to try.  Normally, the samples are for my number one fit model, my wife, to try and I write from her experience and my observations.

Today I will be doing that but here is the newest twist.  I personally will be part of the review which will include a 30 day experiment with me wearing the SQUEEM Cotton & Rubber vest.  First impressions on wearing the vest is coming from a background of not wearing any type of garment like this it is a bit uncomfortable but not unbearable.  Additionally, in the lower part of my back I am sweating but as I stated before it is not something that I have a problem with.

Are You Wearing The Right Size Bra?

Long time Full Figure Plus readers remember part of the foundation of this blog is to help ladies find affordable comfortable bras.  Most of what you will see listed below is not new the information has been around for years but the question still on peoples lips is, “Are you wearing the right size bra?”

Knowing what size bra you wear is dependent on two numbers.  Those numbers are the bra or band size and cup size.  To find out these numbers you will need a tape measure if you are doing it yourself or the preferred method is to have a professional measure for you..

If you prefer to do it out by hand, read and follow the instructions below. You will need a tape measure (preferably paper), and a pencil.  You should be wearing the most comfortable bra you have while doing this but it is not required.
