When it comes to shoes do you trade comfort for cuteness? I know among some I should be hung by my toes for even mentioning comfort over look, but when it comes to shoes spending a few more dollars to get a quality shoe you will keep for years will trump “cute only” every time.
We talked about style on the posts How to become one with your plus-size style and I found my personal style now what? The now what is dealing with the shoes to go with your look. Below are several shoes that may not be the hottest on the block this Fall but they are affordable and best of all your feet, knees, back, and wallet will thank you.

One thing that has not changed in the years that I have been writing this blog is that I know just enough about html to mess things up. That is the reason that I have put FFP into the “I Need A New Design” Contest. Basically, it is a way to have your blog be the considered the “worst” so that you can win a new design.
Most long time readers remember the debacle that FFP just went through with the old design showing up and making everything look horrible. That is what gave me the idea and the reason for the cool banner that you see to the right of this post.
If you guys could do me the favor of clicking on the banner and voting for me I would be forever in your debt and will reward you guys with more quality plus size related posts and even a few contests for 2009. Thanks in advance. Read more...
Recently the state of Alabama passed legislation that employees have until 2010 to get control of thier waistlines or lose the free health insurance. Everytime I hear stories like this I am torn between being upset and indifferent. On one side I say if I work for you then what I do with my size is none of your business. On the other side since nothing is free if part of the conditions for getting a service at no cost is maintaining a certain weight and be free of health problems then either I do it or pay the fee.
Alabama is giving its employees roughly a year to start getting in shape or state employees will be charged $25 a month for insurance that would otherwise be free. The plan was approved recently by the State Employees’ Insurance Board. Read more...
Today I am moving forward with the 10 Questions Series in which I give you the reader a look at some of the individuals in the plus community. Today we get to know plus model LaTonya Mann who I got a chance to see on the runway this past Summer and knew she was destined for greatness.
Where are you from?
I am LaTonya ‘BUBBLES THE MODEL” Mann. Born in Memphis, TN. I a happy go lucky southern belIe. I currently reside in every major city that has a STAGE and 4 inch heels I can wear so I can “POP” down the runway!!
Is modeling a hobby or something you want to do full time?
I started modeling over 10 years ago. In the beginning it was for fun and socializing. Now, I am full-forced into making it a career. Currently, I am the Ceo of Marketing and Business Relations with fellow model/Founder Nikki “Hourglass” Moore of TRULY CURVY GIRLS . Read more...
Last year she made a splash on the runway in Europe. Velvet D’Amour is continuing her modeling success by helping to showcase sexy upscale clothing for Hourglass Fashions. Just like my blog and many others like me they are affiliates of IGIGI. The red gown that Velvet is wearing is from IGIGI.
What I like that best about continuing to see Velvet in action is that she is showing the world that plus size models can strut there stuff on the runway as well as the web.
Hourglass Fashions website is easy to navigate and has features such as gift certificates, clearance and a link to there Myspace.com page.
Check out Hourglass Fashions as well as the other merchants that I have listed in the links section of Full Figure Plus. Don’t forget if you want to keep up with what is going on in the plus size clothing world subscribe to the newsfeed or email. Read more...
When it comes to your wardrobe do you ask yourself “I wish I could get more bang for my buck every time I shop?” If you remember most of this Summer I brought up “price-per-wear” when it comes to purchasing clothes. Basically the more you wear an item the lower the cost is per times you wear it. For example if you pay one hundred dollars for an item and wear it 24 times in a year the cost per wear is $4.16! Plus-Size retailer IGIGI is looking to help you out with your “price-per-wear” situation by introducing the Jackie 2-in-1 dress.
On the surface the dress is a simple black dress that can be worn for work or play with a nice pair of heels and some fierce accessories. You can change the look without changing the dress by simply turning the cuffs and the belt up to reveal the color beneath. At this point the only color is blue in the transformed section but who knows they may introduce other colors later. Read more...
