And their fashion show, designed from scratch specifically for curvy women with help from New York-based Dangerous Curves � The Tour and The Unforgettable Woman, is designed to inspire women to focus on self-esteem rather than clothes size. Despite weight gain after having her first child, she is “still kind of happy” with herself, so she decided to audition as a Pure Panache model, even agreeing to walk down the runway in lingerie. “Some women would be surprised to learn that the fashion industry considers size 12 as plus-size,” said FONI founder Trenay Perry Bynum. “Curvy women want accessibility and affordability. This is why we’ve gone beyond the Nashville landscape to seek designers who aren’t represented in area retail chains.” Pure Panache will feature designer originals in the runway show, and a trunk show of fashions from local retailers such as Lane Bryant and What’s In Store as well as East Coast retailers including the Voluptuous Woman Boutique, Tuesday Conner, Big Girls United (B.G.U.), OSUN Designs and Michi Knitwear. When I started Full Figure Plus a few months ago, there where many days that I didn’t feel like sitting at this computer writing on shopping issues and other things related to Plus size men and women. But a few things happened today that has made those many days of scratching my head to figure out what to write worth it. I received word from my affiliate manager concerning commissions and that was a bright spot because it not only lets me know that the stores that I list are being visited but that people are fulfilling there needs. The second thing that happened absolutely floored me. I receive daily news alerts from Google News and I was surprised to see that an article that I wrote a few days ago showed up as a Google News Alert. Read more...
Update: This story first posted in 2008. What do you think about Old Navy today since they decided to pull plus-size clothing from their stores to sell online only?
To those of you that click on the link for Old Navy you will see that they are closed for remodeling. As most of you know last year Old Navy introduces plus sizes to there clothing lines and this is something that I for sure enjoyed.
Hopefully when they return they will have more new items in the Plus size line to offer as well as an easier navigation of there site. In the meantime check out some of the other sites that I have listed here on my blog for your clothing and accessory needs.

Venus Imaging launched Amazing magazine this summer. They are now running a promotion that a reader can have there voice heard in there column and receive a $200 gift certificate from Igigi.
Knowing that there is another plus size magazine out there to replace the ones that have died over the last few years is a good thing. And considering the growth of the plus size fashion industry its also good that there will be a magazine that will feature trendy products as well as give customers a place to voice there opinions.

One thing that I am finding out in trying to get word out to the masses about what I’m trying to do is that there are not many Plus-size blogs of this type out there and I am also learning the lesson that using a blog as a marketing tool is still in its early stages so the things that I am trying to accomplish are not fully tested. Not to worry I’m in this for the long run. Shopping for the Plus size community has long been ignored and if I and the few others that are trying the same things don’t do anything then who will.
