And The Recipient Of The 2005 Curvation Project Confidence Award Is…

At an emotional luncheon ceremony at New York’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Queen Latifah announced that Yvonne Pointer of Cleveland, Ohio was the grand prize recipient of the national Curvation® Project Confidence Awards.

Pointer experienced a heartbreaking personal tragedy when her fourteen- year-old daughter Gloria was abducted on her way to school, raped and murdered. But rather than suffer in silence, Pointer embarked on a quest to empower–and make the world a safer place for– women and girls. Pointer established the Gloria Pointer Annual Scholarship Award, funded by the proceeds of the book she wrote and self-published, “Behind the Death of a Child.”
