This weeks question is one that has come to both Full Figure Plus and my plus size modeling blog. “When are the auditions for 2008 monique’s fat chance?” The quick and short answer is that there has not been an announcement that there will even be another season of the show.
The first three installments of Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance aired in July with auditions being held in February or March. If the Oxygen channel which was recently purchased by NBC Universal decides to renew the show then I suspect that the auditions will be held at the same time as they have in the past.
For those that don’t know what the show is about it is a size acceptance beauty pageant for plus size ladies to show that size does not matter when it comes to beauty. The show is helping to change the perception of how size is viewed in this country. Last years show took the size acceptance movement to Paris to give the models an opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Phat on the international stage.

What a shame. Sadly Im not too TV conscious these days (no reception up on my mountain) but I sure would be interested in such a show. I have been a big fan of “size acceptance” for sometime. Im an artistic nude model and really love it but its hard to extend into what I really aspire to since clothing is so wierd on me.
Hopefully Mo’Nique can continue, even if Oxygen wont be the station to broadcast the show any longer.

First i’d like to thank you for so many women feel beautiful and just continue to teach them as they grow. i would enjoy it so much. I’m a licensed cosmetologist and do everything. Anyway the reason i really be part of your contest is because i am a single mom for 7 years. i want my kids to be well off one of these days and that is a question at this point in our lives. its been a real hard year on me on my boys. I just want to succeed in something. Im not as big as some of your contestants but good thick thing. I have always been overweight and now there is a way outta our small sad ilves. Whether I make it or not I’m going to persue this. I may even go back to school. More than one person have told me that I have the most beautiful face they’ve ever seen.

Hello to all of the FABULOUS AND THICK women out there!!! I am originally from Florida and moved to the Nashville area last July. I have been overweight most of my life and feel like i’ve been fighting a losing battle. I think Monique is doing such a wonderful job helping women like myself who are “fluffy” really begin to love themselves…all of themselves. Hello My Name is Stephanie Renee Cater and I just want to say that I don’t care if I get fame and fortune. I just want to let Mo’Nique know that I truly admire her and she is a true role model for us ” Big girls”. I have been chunky all of my life and I really never let it bother me until college. I was always the third wheel going out with my friends when they were out with a new guys they weren’t really sure about. The problem was that even though I had low self esteem I was the first of my friends to get married. Little did I know that my husband only wanted to be with me to apease his mother, who wanted him to settle down with a nice girl. Afetr I discovered the “True Me” through the help of my best friend did I realize that there are really people out here that appreciate big girls. But I just want to let Mo’Nique know that she has really made me look very differently at myself. I unfortunately missed the second season until it reaired reciently. The way she let the women know that even nude you have to love yourself. That really made me have a second breakthrough. I now see myself in a whole new way , along with my new boyfriend!! Even though I have a new purpose, I still have a few reservations about my size. Mo’ can you give me any advise.

First I would like to thank Mo’Nique. For creating the opportunity for beautiful women to show people that you do not have to be a size 5 just to be a model. It encourages all full figure women to just be and love themself. Take myself as a prime example, I used to be that self-conscious girl. Or i would not wear anything but tennis shoes and jeans(still do) but on my dress down days. She gave me that motivation to just be me. Just to except my body the way that it is. That is why I would love to audition for Miss F.A.T. 2008.
