This week’s American launch of a revolutionary website strives to solve age-old problems faced by dieters and parents. SizeXchange, based in Hanmer Springs, New Zealand, solves the problem body downsizers face of finding clothing to wear when they are on their way to reaching their goal dress size. It also solves the problem parent’s face of finding clothes that fit as their children constantly grow out of them. Founded by New Zealand-based Becky Siame and Sandi Corbishley, the website allows downsizers to purchase clothing that they will only wear for a short time, via a simple points system.
SizeXchange is an online exchange website, where subscribed members can Xchange their clothes using Xchange Points. A key element is that the exchange is cash free, that is, you earn points through sales and use those points for purchases. Once a subscriber loses weight, or reaches another dress size, they can list their no longer needed clothing on the SizeXchange website, via our unique count down pricing system. The points earned can then be used to purchase other sizes that they will only wear for a short time, as they continue to lose weight, or otherwise grow out of them.
“Clothing is a huge problem for downsizers like me,” says Ms Siame. “As I lose weight, I need clothing that I will only wear for a short time, but don’t want to pay a lot of money for them. I found that other downsizers shared this problem, and it was out of this thinking that SizeXchange was developed. It’s a place where you can get clothing and all the motivational, dietary, image and fitness advice you need to lose the weight and keep it off for good!”
“Being a mom of 3 teenage boys, I have constantly faced the money issue of needing to buy new clothes as my boys grow.” says Sandi Corbishley, Becky’s business partner. “Now there is an affordable option out there, so parents don’t need to pay retail prices for clothing their children will only be wearing for a matter of months”
SizeXchange is happy to announce a strategic partnership with US based Weightview.com. Weightview.com is a patent pending tool that allows users to upload a photo of themselves, click how much weight they want to lose, the tool then provides them with a visual motivation of what they could look like. It allows them to see themselves slimmer, which, in turn, motivates people to purchase products that will help them, succeed. Weightview.com have been on Rachel Ray, NBC, CBS, Fox 5, and in January 09 will be featured on the Martha Stuart Show. This partnership enables our SizeXchange members to utilize this tool direct from the SizeXchange website. It will also provide further exposure for SizeXchange in the US online diet and health markets enabling our members more variety.
SizeXchange brings traders together for mutual benefit, and unlike auction sites where the items are for sale and the sale prices can be driven higher by bidding, subscribed members of SizeXchange exchange their no longer needed clothing for points, and then use those points to grab clothing in the size they need, when they need it, and only pay for the shipping/postage.
