Has Plus Size Blogging Made a Difference?

In seven days Full Figure Plus will turn four years old. There have been a lot of changes that this blog has gone through over that time but the one thing that has remained constant is the drive to bring the most information possible to plus size women and big and tall men in regard to fashion and the internet.
The one question that comes to my mind is “Has plus size blogging really made a difference or is this the way that things would have happened even without blogging”?
The creator and author of this blog part of me says absolutely blogging has made a difference in how larger individuals view shopping on the Internet. Each year there are more and more merchants that come online and a few that make big names in a short period of time.
The other part of me says no blogging for plus sizes has not made much ground when there is such a marked difference between the message that I put out and the message that some size acceptance blogs put out. While after the same audience it is done in such a different way it makes me think which one is better and is one hurting the message of the other.
One thing that I do know is that without readers then bloggers like me and others that have been around for more than six months would have to find something else to do. I would love to have the problem of so many comments that I stay constanly behind in reading but I like the fact that I can give personal attention to emails and comments from real people with real concerns.
When I feel down it is a comment or email that lets me know that Full Figure Plus gave them what they needed that keeps me going and will forever have me in the debt of those that support this blog.
Think about things from that stand point of view even though I don’t have one million hits per day I have made a difference in a small way to those that take advantage of the products or services that I write about. What do you think about this blog and did you think that it would still be here after four years?

I have run my size acceptance website since 1999. I have received many comments of which 99% have been very positive. As long as I get them I shall continue. Many of the messages I get (email, blog comments etc) are so happy that there is a place to find positive articles. Too many plus size people feel they are on their own. They should not suffer in silence.
So with luck and hard work, sites like Full Figure Plus and SizeNet shall continue to provide support and encouragement for a long time.
