HBO Films’ LIFE SUPPORT, is a moving and candid look at the African-American community’s HIV crisis through the eyes of a survivor, Ana. Inspired by the true story of Andrea Williams - mother and former addict turned AIDS activist, the film uses a mix of actors and real people to tell of her courageous journey, confident persistence, and the heartfelt lessons she learned about loving and letting go.
“What appealed to me about the project is that I could relate to the story.” says Queen Latifah, who plays the role of Ana. “I spent a lot of time in Brooklyn during my teenage years, and I was very fortunate to come through that period healthy, and to change my life and get back on course.”
Tune in to HBO this Saturday (March 10th, 8PM EST) for the premiere of this important film. LIFE SUPPORT shows how self esteem and confidence help give women the courage they need to over-come challenges and not just survive, but thrive.
