How to make your bra last

Nothing can ruin a day faster than uncomfortable bra. Or worse a total wardrobe malfunction. Proper fit and care of your intimate wear can save time, money and discomfort in the long run. There are a few things to consider about your taking care of you bras.
- It’s ok to wear a bra twice before you wash it but never wear the same bra two days in a row.
- Many reports show that 80% of women are wearing a bra that is the wrong size. Make sure to go to a specialty shop to be professionally measured at least once a year. Wearing the wrong size not only can make you look heavier but makes your clothes not look as crisp.
- You get what you pay for when it comes to a bra. Cheap flimsy bras that don’t fit properly also won’t provide much support.
- Bras don’t last forever. The most a bra will last is 12 months and that is only if it has been hand washed air dried and rotated out often.
- Hand wash in cold water using a mild detergent. Machine wash cold on the delicate cycle.
- For proper rotation it is best to have between 6-10 daily bras and 2-3 special occasion bras.
- If there is any sign of wear such as missing eyelets or frayed straps replace the bra as soon as possible.
- If your weight shifts more than 10 pounds up or down its time for new bras.
- Buy in bulk. When bras go on sale buy enough to wear for at least five days.
It all starts with buying quality pieces to begin with. Sacrificing comfort for cuteness is something that a plus size woman can’t afford when it comes to a bra. It may be the perfect color, but if it’s not in the right size, you’re spilling out or bouncing everywhere then the money that you saved on this trip will be spent later when you have to replace your cute bra after washing it 2-3 times.
