IGIGI Presents ‘16′ Starring Plus Model Fluvia Lacerda
Posted on October 14, 2009 by Glen Johnson

IGIGI the plus size fashion merchant that is becoming known for pushing the envelope of plus size fashion has done it again except this time it is in the world of plus modeling and film.
Teaming up with Brazilian plus model Fluvia Lacerda and director Mark de Paola we have the short film ‘16′. According to the press release, ‘16′, is film that challenges the stereotypes of beauty currently set by the film, fashion, and advertising industries. The film is a departure from the norm, as Lacerda is a size 16, rather than the usual size 2.
“Today women think they must fit unachievable molds in order to feel beautiful and sexy”, says Lacerda. “As a curvy woman I have always felt sexy under my skin and this film carries that very message, a message I hope will open people’s minds with regard to how diverse beauty can be.
I have always loved a curvy woman and to see Fluvia presented in such a sensual way was breath taking! This video is yet another example of the movement that is going on in which real women are being seen more in print, television and magazines. I am sure that Karl Lagerfeld and Meme Roth hate that despite their criticism curvy women are getting more opportunities than ever with more to come!
Back to ‘16′ the video which you can watch below or on YouTube is fantastic! You can help IGIGI present part two by going to the IGIGI website and voting for part two of ‘16′. Congratulations Fluvia for staring in such a great short and thank you for showing how sexy curves can be and thank you IGIGI for doing everything that you do!

OMG!! Glen I watchd the video. What an amazing clip. Fluvia is fearless I love the fact that she was really able to bring a voice to many who are not heard without even uttering a word. She looked absolutely stunning. Great piece, thanks for the info!!

Lola,
I agree 100% with you. Because I don’t focus on modeling I was not aware of who she was but after reading Crystal Renn’s book and seeing pieces like this I have found I know more about the modeling world than I thought!
