Introducing Plus Size Fashionista Jami Templeton aka “Jami The Diva”

The one things that I love the most about my blog is the interesting people that I get to write about. I didn’t discover this plus size diva on my own but it is my pleasure to introduce you to her. Recording artist and actress Jami Templeton has been gracing stages from Seattle to South Africa for nearly 20 years. Most recently co-producing and starring in “Sketches of Love,” a sold out musical review in North Hollywood, Jami is paving the way for plus size personalities everywhere. Aside from her theatrical career she has been hard at work in the studio working on her first album titled “Il Sogno”. Jami has most recently created a television reality show centered on the beauty of plus size women. “The show is in development with a major production company. It is an inspirational and trendsetting show for the curvy and voluptuous woman that will inspire the mind and touch the heart. This show is geared toward an audience that is widely overlooked, but huge in numbers. It is our goal to teach women that they don’t have to lose 100, or even 10 lbs, before they can feel fabulous and love themselves, in this moment, exactly as they are right now!” states Jami.

Jami attended Manhattan School of Music where she studied under master teacher, Trish McCaffrey, and has received nods for her vocal excellence from the highly esteemed Metropolitan Opera. Her passion for writing and recording a broad genre of music brought her to Los Angeles where she worked with the top vocal coach in the world as well as the Speech Level Singing technique (SLS) founder, Seth Riggs. Seth has worked with world renowned artists such as Michael Bolton, Julio Iglesias, Faith Hill and Stevie Wonder. Her acting coach as well as long time friend is the fabulous Niecy Nash who hosts “Clean House” on the Style Network. She has been studying under Niecy for the past two years and “It is an honor to work with Jami, she is poised, talented and is pre-destined for fame,” says Neicy.

A true “fashionista” at heart, Jami believes that the perfect marriage to music is fashion. Jami’s eye for fashion and heart for women struggling with body image naturally landed her in the world of personal shopping and fashion styling. “I think outside the box, I’m known for my fashion flare- and ability to rock a hot pair of stilettos,” says Jami. Her work includes personal shopping and make-over’s for her very own private list of clientele.

Outside of entertainment Jami loves kids, making people laugh and cooking for family and friends. Her musical influences are Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand, Opera singer Kiri TeKanawa, and Abraham McDonald. Jami loves to travel and has performed in Italy, New York, Arizona and Los Angeles.
