In the almost six years I have been writing for Full Figure Plus no posts get me more attention from the right than when I write “Do’s or Dont’s” posts. 22 plus size fashion dont’s not only kept my streak alive but one comment brought up the statement “Is this site supposed to be fat positive?” The short answer to this statement is to check this blogs archives under “size acceptance” and “size discrimination” and decide for yourself.
When it comes to writing about fashion for plus sizes it has never been about being the fashion police. My goal is to help ladies look their best when they leave the house and to show some of the same tips that work for straight sizes work for plus sizes. Back to the original question of FFP being a fat positive blog. If this blog was not why would the Plus Size Beauty of the Week exist? I mean this segment has been going on for over two years in which dozens of ladies get their moment in the spotlight. Just last week the young lady who was featured just completed her first professional photo shoot.
Do I take a bit of offense in questioning the direction of this blog. Yes I do because not only am I married to a beautiful woman who is a size 20, but we talk often about what looks good on her particular shape. It is not to restrict what she or any reader of this blog puts on because in the end that is your individual right, but what if the things you wear on a daily basis take your already beautiful look to the next level? Is that not worth trying out a few suggestions that will for the most part cost you little or nothing?
Is Full Figure Plus a fat acceptance blog? No. Is Full Figure Plus an information source for the plus community to find tips and tricks to help readers navigate through shopping on the Internet? Absolutely. Now that I have come to the end of my rant on if Full Figure Plus is a fat positive blog I will just say that Full Figure Plus is a blog chronicling plus size fashion and things related from a male point of view. For those who question my motives, all I can say is look at my track record I think it speaks for itself?

Glenn, I was appalled by the comment you received about your blog, so as an advid reader and a fan of your blog, I am coming to your defense, (not that you can’t stand on your own) to let the female know who wrote it know that she has missed the boat about your blog. Never have you ever written any thing that has exploited the full figure woman, only celebrating the full figure women of the world. You have discussed topics, such as why fashion designers do not cater to the full figure shapes and size acceptance, way before the “top magazines” were discussing it and even the other female owned blogs were discussing it. Your style tips and internet shopping info has always been on point. Are you perfect no, but 99% is not bad! Yes you are a man in a woman’s world, but you have earned your right to there! I will read your blog before I read any of the other mess they have out on the internet written by woman! You continue to what you do and I will continue to read it and comment about it!
Thanks for the support. It did get to me a bit but it was also a chance to talk about the things that do go on on this blog and what I feel are relevant issues to be talked about.
