ISAA gives McDonald’s “Size Friendly Business Award”
Now I don’t know about everyone but growing up of all the things that was associated with McDonald’s healthy choices was not one of them. Considering that when I was a kid everything was fried and we liked it that way. Even the lawsuits out there that claim that McDonald’s made them fat never had one thing to say about the hamburger giant and healthy choices. The majority of people that I know, because I for sure don’t eat there, go to Mickey Dee’s for the French Fries or the nuggets.
With the popularity of the The Atkin’s Diet and The South Beach Diet more American’s are making healthy choices. I guess the fast food industry is taking note and I wonder if the International Size Acceptance Organization gave McDonald’s the “Size Friendly Business Award” because they are making steps in the right direction and not necessarily because they added a few salads to the menu and made seating for there larger customers.
Regardless as to the reasons for McDonald’s doing what they are doing, the fact that such a high profile business is taking note of the fact that there customers are larger and are making steps to give them healthy menu alternatives as well as proper seating make them ahead of the competition just like when they decided to give up a portion of there space for a play area for children.
