JMS adds Customer Ratings and Reviews

One of the things that makes a product sell well is recommendations from other customers. Just My Size.com has started a star rating system on their website that will allow customers to rate products and write reviews. To my knowledge beyond the rating systems on Ebay and Amazon.com reader reviews are not being used by many other merchants to this degree. Usually reviews are limited to customer testimonials.

The rating system is pretty simple. It is a 5 star system that will calculate a percentage of customer preference for a product. The wording “of customers that would recommend this product to a friend” is much better than “customers who liked this product.” I would not recommend something to a friend that I would not be willing to purchase for myself.

Next is the typical read or write reviews which will allow shoppers to read what others have said about a product or write their on comments in. A strange area that is included in the new review system is Printable Reviews. Clicking the link opens a window that allows you to print the reviews that have been written. I am not sure why someone would need to do this but its a cool feature that someone will surely make creative use of.

I am sure that the new rating system will make shopping even more easy. With more consumers using the web to shop anything that targets easy of use will have a positive impact.
