Macy’s carries designer plus size fashions

There was talk a few weeks ago about fashion designers Calvin Klein and Micheal Mors getting into the plus size fashion world. Macy’s is carrying clothing by both designers.
The good thing about this is that there are more designers jumping on the band wagon and making clothing for plus size women and in some cases men more fashionable and trendy.
The drawback to the clothing that is offered at Macy’s is that the models don’t reflect the sizes that they offer.
This is a wake up call to all plus size models and plus size modeling agencies. There needs to be a harder push towards being able to represent the customers that will be buying the items. A size 14 model is not a good representation of what a size 22 customer would look like in clothing.
Applause to all the players for there efforts now there just needs to be larger real sized models to give shoppers a real look at how the clothing will look on a larger frame.

I agree with you 100%, Glen. I think the truth is that stores don’t want customers to see what they might really look like in a particular garment. They want to create the illusion that a size 22 woman will somehow magically look like the size 14 model. (sigh)
At our Jahqoi website, we try to use models that look like real people. As things improve for us, we will employ more models to reflect all the various sizes. It’s not fair to deceive customers just to sell a product.
