Recently I was given the opportunity to review the Shapewear High Rise Short from N-fini Shape. My trusty assistant was excited as usual to receive another garment for testing. Upon first look at the shaper in my opinion it looked to small but the combination of Deluxe Micro-fiber, Nylon, and LYCRA® not only was accommodating to her figure but make a marked difference in the fit of her clothes.
A size 3x was sent based on the measurements on the website for a size 20-24 and up to 250lbs. Apparently wifey has quite the unique figure in that the shorts fit but for her personal taste she would have felt better in the size 2x. Side Note: This is why I have stressed over the years to have yourself professionally measured in order that you know your body and how items will fit your unique shape.
Below are some example photos of the shapewear shorts on my number one plus size model. As you can see the shorts come up to just below the bra line and smooth out the tummy area meaning your clothes will fit you the way they are supposed to fit. The overall view from my fit model is a positive one. For some the price may be steep but think of it from this point, if it makes your clothes fit properly and gives you a polished look is that not worth the upfront investment?

Ok now my question is how is the N-fini different from the Spanx?

Considering they are shapers in that regard they are similar. The N-fine short has Lycra and microfiber were as Spanx are all cotton. The N-fini will keep its form and the microfiber will help control perspiration.
