The last few weeks I have been paying more attention to UK fashion retailer Simply Be. Part of it has been in an effort to be global in my scope of bringing you different looks in terms of full figured fashion and the other is out of curiosity as to what clothes for larger individuals is like in other countries. Simply Be is making more of a push on the fashion front to go with their launching in the United States this summer. To go with that push I would like to introduce the Ruby Rocks Collection , Hot Tropics and African Beats Collections.
Get set for summer with Simply Be’s sizzling new limited edition micro collections, Hot Tropic and African Beat in sizes 14-32.
In Hot Tropic, jungle green, banana yellow and gemmy turquoise make for a fresh summer palette that really pops. Shining sequin scales, butterflies and tropical bird motifs make these lines come alive. Key pieces include the stunning toucan print tee and the gorgeous deep green maxi in light, floaty fabric.
From traditional tribal patterns to freely expressive forms, there’s a real feeling of music and movement to the African Beat collection. Earthy toned maxi skirts, flame coloured summer dresses and big cat prints make bold statements set to spark a rhythm in your blood.

This summer, Simply Be are also proud to add a hot new label to their fabulous collection: Ruby Rocks, the unique boutique brand beloved by such stars such Fearne Cotton. A taster offering of Ruby Rocks pieces is available online at SimplyBe.co.uk now in sizes 12-32, including the chic black and gold batwing jumpsuit modelled in a recent photo shoot by Mark Fast model Gywneth Harrison. More plus size Ruby Rocks lines will be added at the end of June.
I think US retailers have to up their game to make sure they stay up with the flux of UK merchants who seem to have a better hand on the full figured fashion market than their US counterparts. If the plus modeling industry is an indicator then we need to be nervous on this side of the water of being knocked down a notch from other countries in which models from the US help them get their piece of the $40 billion dollar US plus size shopping dollar. Happy shopping!

They are really pushing the colour and style which I love! Great post Glen! V x

V,
I agree with you on that I can’t wait for them to debut on this side of the water this summer!
