Obese adults and there health care

When I read the article Obese Adults Undergo Less Medical Tests And More Vulnerable To Diseases  I must say that I was kind of shocked at first but when I thought about it I calmed down and thought about it a bit more.  If there is some discrimination towards plus size people in other areas why not health care?

Reading that though they say obese people are “more vulnerable to diseases” they are receiving less preventative health care.  It is almost as if the medical profession has writing plus size paitents off as a loss.  I would hope that I am wrong in this case but after reading the mistakes of the CDC the past few months then I don’t think that I am that far off the mark.

Part of the problem some believe is that obese people tend to have a lower income and have less insurance than smaller people but I still don’t think that I fully buy that.  I mean since when did size have anything to do with a person’s earning potential?  Though I do know that many blacks don’t trust the medical profession at all and it doesn’t matter what size they are.  And even though cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other things exist among many plus size people there is still not a mad rush to get to the doctors office because of past incidents of discrimination maybe keeping them from getting the health care that they need.
