Old Navy selling plus sizes ONLINE ONLY
I few months ago Old Navy made the decision to pull plus sizes from their stores. I and many other bloggers made our opinions be known on how we felt about the issue. A few days ago I received an invitation to join there affiliate that is when I discovered that they still sell plus size clothes, but they are available only online. There where some questions and concerns that I needed answered before I accepted their invitation. The email to the affiliate program was not working so I decided to post it here and let it float around the blogsphere and get your opinion on this situation.
To whom it concerns,
I am writing in regard to the invitation to join the old navy affiliate program. While I appreciate the invitation I have a few questions and concerns before I accept the invite. I was originally a part of your affiliate program some time ago and my affiliation was dropped I assume because I did not meet the minimum number of page views for the program or not enough sales. There was no problem with this on my part since I know this is just a part of affiliate programs.
My concerns involve the decision to pull plus sizes from the Old Navy stores. I must say that I was initially shocked to hear about the decision to pull plus sizes from your stores and I was critical about the decision on my blog, since the day that I wrote that entry I have not thought much about old navy or promoting products. Needless to that is why I was surprised to get the invitation to join your affiliate program and to see that plus sizes are going to be sold “Exclusively Online” Other plus size bloggers where even more critical than I was in regard to the decision to remove plus sizes from your stores and I am sure will have similar words to say about plus sizes being available online only.
My question now is:
Why is it ok to sell to plus size women online but not in your stores?
Is the merchandise that you will be selling online for a limited time only until you run out of the current seasons stock?
Why was there not more promotion given to plus sizes while you had them in the stores initially.
What is the corporate policy in regard to plus size men and women?
As a business I realize that you have the right to chose who you want to have as a part of your affiliate program. As a blogger and business owner seeking to bring only the best to my readers/clients I am trying to get a clear picture of everything involved. If these concerns disqualify me from being a part of the Old Navy affiliate program then so be it, I would prefer to know up front than to promote products and services that I personally do not stand behind.
Sincerely,
