Plus- Real Girl Band Set To Challenge Industry Stereotypes

When I first heard about Plus the plus size girl band that is looking to challenge the stereotypes in the music industry that we all know are not very fat friendly I could not find much information on them beyond the press release article. I was lucky enough to find more information about them on their website Real Girl Band. Stacey-Lee Cuddy, Rachel Faulkner, Shirley Slaymaker, Kate Newnes and Hannah Lee are the five members band. To find out that they actually won the competition last summer but are just recently coming to the public eye is amazing to me considering the level of their talent. The first single Big Fun takes me back to my teen years with a nice 80’s flare. Check out their Bebo page to learn more about these talented ladies and download Big fun from Itunes. I will be on the lookout for the full album and who knows I may have a contest to give away a copy to a reader.

I love that you did this article. We definately need more plus size everything - in every industry. I myself feel discriminated against all the time because of my size, regardless if I am talented or not. This gets my goat!. I really love your site and visit all the time.
