Plus size lingerie: One womans thoughts

The poll that I ran last week about shopping preferences gave some interesting insight into the thought process of some ladies. As a result I decided to talk to a reader and get her thoughts on being plus size and shopping for lingerie on and offline. A good friend of mine agreed to answer a few questions about her lingerie shopping habits and a few other things. This is one of the things that I enjoy about blogging it allows me to meet with some great people and learn a lot about what I am trying to accomplish with my blog. Full Figure Plus: Do you ever shop for lingerie online?
Yashakia Robinson: No, I have never bought anything online actually, I always look but never buy anything.
FFP: If you did shop online would you get items like gowns, bras, babydolls etc. or would you only get something like panties and hosiery?
YK: No, I would buy all of it. if it’s available, may as well, get it
FFP: Is there a certain store that you prefer to get your lingerie from and do they have a website as well?
YK: I buy all my lingerie from Lane Bryant only because I don’t know of many stores here in Denver that sell plus sized stuff.
FFP: Did you know that Lane Bryant had expanded there Cacique lingerie line to stand alone stores?
YK: You are kidding, Big girl lingerie stores?
FFP: Last year 50 Cacique lingerie stores opened up. Would you shop in a store that had lingerie for plus sizes only?
YK: Heck yes! Man, I hope they put one of those in Denver
FFP: When it comes to buying lingerie what do you consider a good price for a panty and bra set
YK: A whole set probably about $70-75.00
FFP: Do you own any exotic lingerie such as corsets or bustiers?
YK: No
FFP: Would you consider buying some?
YK: Yes, if the price was right
FFP: Finally, what do you think the state of plus size lingerie is now compared to five years ago

YR: It’s much better now. We have more choices. It’s not just plain bras for bigger women, we actually have things that are sexy, that definitely can be considered to be in the same category as lingerie for smaller women.

There you have it the words straight from a plus size woman about her experience with plus size lingerie. Though Yashakia doesn’t shop online she is open to it and I agree with her that the state of lingerie for plus size women has for sure gotten better with time. Lets hope in the next 5 years finding lingerie either online or offline won’t be the great treasure hunt that it sometimes can be when it comes to finding larger sizes.
