After reading the top 10 plus-size predictions on the Curvy Fashionista I decided it was time for Full Figure Plus to get into the mix. There were lots of things that happened last year to leave me hopeful of things to come which will make my list a little different than others but at the same time on point. As usual regardless as to if you agree or not feel free to add your comments.
- Plus-Size fashion will play a major role during New York and Milan Fashion weeks
- A plus-size reality show will depict real women instead of fabricated ones
- A major retail chain will carry plus-sizes and advertise such in a big way
- A designer of plus-size fashions will be the breakout star of the fashion world
- A plus-size blogger, hopefully me, will become an A list blogger
- We will see the end of sideshow level antics from plus-size celebrities aka Star Jones and Mo’Nique
- More magazines for plus-sizes will hit the web and the newsstand
- We will see the end of the fat-suit to prove that fat people are routinely discriminated against
- Photoshopped images of plus-size and straight models will become a thing of the past
- We will see more photos of plus-size models below 5’9″ everywhere
There you have it my predictions for 2010 in the plus-size community. Hopefully my predictions will do just as well this year as they did in 2009. For those wondering about the photos they area sneak peak at V Magazine’s Size issue that is set to hit the stands January 14!

If you would like to do a curvy guest post for Full Figure Plus stop by the

I like these predictions Glen! Hopefully they will all come true!

Kimmoy,
We will see I will for sure look back at the end of the year to see how close we get!
What are some great plus size magazines? I used to look forward to Mode and then Figure but I have yet to find another.
I really hope your predictions come true and may I add one more…that BMI is not used to judge whether you are fit or not! BMI should become a thing of the past also!!
Wanda,
Unfortunately there are not many plus size magazines out there. SKORCH and Plus Model Magazine are doing excellent jobs, but they cannot do it alone there is room for many more. I would like to see BMI used as a guide not as the rule. We shall see.
I agree Glenn, things are trending in favor of plus size fashion. Our plus photos are up and running now and we are happy with the result so far.
