Plus Sized band “Plus” to Challenge Size Norms

Last year I was one of many that heard the Glamazons and saw the video of the plus size quartet in Asia.  While plus size groups are not new, forming one specifically to challenge size discrimination in the music industry is.

Stacey-Lee Cuddy, of Long Lane in Gamlingay, was picked from more than 500 hopefuls to become part of new girl band Plus – created to challenge the music industry’s preference for waif-like performers.”

This is a time that I wished that I was over in the UK to be able to see bands like Plus and to see groups like Mika perform the fun big girl anthem “You are Beautiful”  Best of luck to Stacey-Lee and Plus.  Their first single Big Fun – a cover of an ’80s chart hit – will be available for download via online music stores such as i-Tunes and Napster from Monday, April 28.
