Revolution Clothing Introduces Plus Size Fashion To India and Beyond

Back in 2006 I wrote about a then new designer on the scene Revolution Clothing.  Years ago I had a problem with the conversion of Indian Rupees to US Dollars and its still an issue now but Google helped me convert RS 999.00 into $20.75 US meaning that you can be fashionable by having clothing few have at an affordable cost.

The most expensive item displayed on the site was RS 2500 which converts to under $70 US.  Not a bad trade off for a trendy garment.  The drawback to the website is it appears to not have been updated in quite sometime though they have brick and mortar location in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Revolution pioneered the concept of “plus size fashion” in India, and is very proud to be a brand that accepts women as they are. As Nisha Somaia, Director, Revolution, puts it, “The entire push of the fashion world is skinny thin, not every woman can look like that. Not accepting oneself leads to low self-esteem and discomfort with oneself. At Revolution, we love and celebrate women for who they are, and provide them with trendy and fashionable clothes. Shopping at Revolution is a fun experience. All women, regardless of size, have a right to fashion.”

With sizes from -2(US Size 10) to a 4(US size 22) it will not be hard to find what you want.  The biggest drawback to the website is shipping is only available to those living in India.  Such a shame that almost 5 years after its birth the clothes are only available to such a limited audience.  I think I am going to contact them to find out if they are now shipping to other countries.

The best part about Revolution and what they are doing is showing  no matter where in the world ladies are located all they want is to look good when they get dressed.  In my own experience my wife who by the way would love this entire collection spends just as much time asking me if she looks good as she does doing other tasks.  Hats off to Nisha and all those involved with Revolution.
