Even though security when making online purchases is excellent and goes without a hitch in most cases there are still some that are nervous about using there credit card online. PaidByCash.com is helping to ease that tension by allowing purchases of “cash” card backed by the power of MasterCard®.
Getting a Paid by Cash Virtual MasterCard® is simple.
- Go to PaidByCash.com.
- Enter the zip code for your area
- Find the merchant nearest you that sells the cards.
- Pay the $4.95 activation fee to be able to load from load any value from $10 up to $350 on your card.
- Activate your card.
- Make your purchases online at any merchant that accepts Mastercard® .
The Paid by Cash card is not a credit card and there are rules that have to be adhered to making it safe for the consumer to use without fear.
I personally think that it is too much leg work to get one of these cards. I can see the benefit and the peace of mind that it offers to those that just don’t trust online merchants and there credit card information.
Offering more flexibility than a traditional gift card since it can be used both online and offline makes the Paid by Cash a good one time purchase for anyone wanting to take advantage of the deals found making online purchases.

A great alternative to giving out your credit card info is to use Bill Me Later when you’re shopping online. I work for Bill Me Later and highly recommend it, especially if you’re concerned about the safety of making purchases online. Just click on “Bill Me Later” at checkout, answer two simple questions for a quick credit check, and approval is within just 3 seconds. Then, you’ll get a bill in the mail a few weeks later, and you can choose to pay it in full or pay over time (works just like a credit card account). I really think it’s a safe and convenient way to shop online. Check it out for yourself at http://www.billmelater.com.

I’m not sure about BillMeLater — sounds like a rip-off! They charge over 18% interest.
I think the mafia has lower interest rates.
I like the idea of paying in cash. Or if you qualify — get one of those 0% interest credit cards that have a 12-month grace period.

I personally don’t have a problem using my credit card online so most services like this are not for me. There are those that have a problem with it so programs like these are a good alternative.
