In another blow to the modeling industry for using models that are too skinny designer JEAN-PAUL Gaultier used plus size model Velvet in his runway show in Paris.
Decked out in both classic and stylish lingerie I’m sure that Velvet stunned a lot of the people in the audience that would have never suspected a plus size model would be amongst the anorexic ladies that typically go up and down high fashion runways.
I was impressed not only to see a plus size model on a Paris runway, but to see her dressed in lingerie. As a size 20 model, Velvet in my opinion reflects a large number of women worldwide who can now get an idea of how they would look in clothing and lingerie.
There really needs to be more plus size modeling shows to hit both on the national and international stage. Though there are more and more coming out each day, Plus size modeling agencies are still on the local level struggling to break out of the pack.
Much praise goes out to JEAN-PAUL Gaultier for using a model like Velvet in his show. Now there just needs to be a show that all of the models on the runway look just like Velvet.
