Don’t be discouraged by the photos.  Many of the bra sizes especially in the Gok Wan collection go up to G and H cup sizes with bands up to a 48.  Most panties go up to a size 2x. Remember Simply Yours is a UK company so the sizes are different.  For US and other countries be sure you do the proper conversions be for you order.

Full Figure Plus - Plus Size Fashion For Today's Active Women

Have you dreamed of having clothes you know nobody else in your circle has?  That dream came true for my number one plus-size diva (my wife) when the fantastic people at SimplyYours gave me the opportunity to sample some of their clothes.

The great thing about sampling these clothes was being able to introduce them to US readers and to finally see what the difference in quality is between items from the UK vs. the US.  First impression was UK clothes at least from this particular merchant is they run a little big especially the shoes, but more on that in a minute.  Overall everything was well constructed and cut with the plus-size frame in mind.

The top is a Joe Brown knit cardigan. Trying it on was equal to putting on a sweater and tying it in the back.  The look could be changed by switching the cami underneath or tying it in a different fashion.  Not as versatile as a convertible dress but still a trendy piece.  3/4 sleeves cover up the “areas” and being 100% acrylic the material is very comfortable.

The skirt also from Joe Brown is full of seasonal colors with floral prints.  100% cotton and 30″ in length it goes well past the knee to give a classy look perfect for the office or night on the town.  A size 26 was chosen and based on the cut it runs a little big meaning you should be aware of this when making your purchases.

The boots by far were the best of the bunch according to the fit model. The Shoe Tailor Cowboy Boot EEE Fit is a genuine leather boot with a low heel meaning it will be easy on your knees.  The EEE size meant it was a little big on her size 10 foot but nothing that a pair of thick socks could not solve.  The wrinkled leather look that tapers down to the smoothness of the front of the boot makes it really stand out.

The final piece is the Gok Wan Sex Kitten Corset.  I think we have created a monster with this one.  As you can see from the rear photo it was not completely cinched the fit was comfortable and easy to get into once she stopped treating it like a bra.  I liked the color and the ribbon in the back gave it an extra bit of sexiness.  The size 26 corset was up to the task of taming the size 42G breasts of the fit model.  The only complaint is the model on the page is to small, but that is another post.

Overall the clothes and lingerie were a complete hit.  For those self conscious about numbers know a 20/22 in the US may possibly be a 26/28 in the UK so you will have to pay close attention to the size charts on your purchases to avoid mixups.  With low prices and quality construction I strongly reccommend checking out Simply Yours and Simply Be to get your hands on some quality plus-size clothing.  The quality is on par with anything you could purchase in the US and with International shipping you can be anywhere in the world and have it shipped to your front door.

If the result of this lingerie design contest is half what I have witnessed with the garments I just got my hands on from Simply Yours then we all are in for a treat.  By the way I will review the items in a later post.  But a quick recap Simply Yours, and Gok Wan are teaming up to give a new designer a chance design a two-piece plus-size lingerie set.

Plus size lingerie specialist Simply Yours has launched a new design competition aimed at fashion students and lingerie lovers.

The company is inviting aspiring fashion designers and anyone with an interest in design to create a two piece lingerie set that will appeal to the curvy, confident, stylish women who buy from the Simply Yours collection.

Simply Yours’ first ever Above Average Underwear Event, hosted by Gok Wan and Key 103, proved to a great success for the plus size lingerie specialist, who is now looking at running further events at selected venues across the country.

Guests arriving at Manchester’s Hilton found the Cloud 23 bar decked out in sumptuous fashion with pink and black balloons and prints of the Simply Yours ranges adorning the walls. Beauty treatments went down a storm, as did jewellery displays and specially made ‘Goktails’.

The Simply Yours team gave out lingerie advice, including tips for finding the perfect bra, while Gok himself leant his expertise to one lucky competition winner, using his 1940s inspired collection of shapewear, designed exclusively for Simply Yours.

A good time was had by all, prompting Simply Yours to look at the possibility of taking the show on the road and hosting the Above Average Underwear Event in other UK cities.
