Two Dresses in One From IGIGI

When it comes to your wardrobe do you ask yourself “I wish I could get more bang for my buck every time I shop?”  If you remember most of this Summer I brought up “price-per-wear”  when it comes to purchasing clothes.  Basically the more you wear an item the lower the cost is per times you wear it.  For example if you pay one hundred dollars for an item and wear it 24 times in a year the cost per wear is $4.16!  Plus-Size retailer IGIGI is looking to help you out with your “price-per-wear” situation by introducing the Jackie 2-in-1 dress.

On the surface the dress is a simple black dress that can be worn for work or play with a nice pair of heels and some fierce accessories.  You can change the look without changing the dress by simply turning the cuffs and the belt up to reveal the color beneath.  At this point the only color is blue in the transformed section but who knows they may introduce other colors later.

Plus-Size Fashion to Appear During New York Fashion Week

Plus-size fashion during New York Fashion Week – This topic has been something floating around for quite sometime.  I most recently heard talk about it this Summer during Full Figured Fashion Week™.  It is no longer a rumor it IS going to happen this Fall OneStopPlus.com is bringing “the first ever plus-size-only runway show to the NY Fashion Week.  Part of me is excited about this news but at the same time the plus-only part bugs me though I like the theme which is themed Belle Epoque, the Golden Age plus-size fashion

I know that the size police will hang me for saying that I have a problem with the segregation of the ladies and I should just be happy that plus is in the house of an event that has a history of only showcasing size 6 and under models, but I my dream for plus-size fashion is for it to disappear into fashion in general and just be a part of the rest of fashion.  Below is part of the press release, if you want to read the rest read Plus-Size to Make Debut in New York Fashion Week With OneStopPlus.com

22 Plus Size Fashion Dont’s

Have you ever thought about things you should not do when it comes to getting dressed in the morning?  I just had that very conversation with my wife this morning about a particular dress that makes her look larger than she is.  With that in mind below are so definite don’ts when it comes to getting dressed, especially for plus size goddesses.

  1. Clothes that don’t fit right
  2. Clothes that don’t go together in both color and style
  3. Not wearing the right clothes for your body type (Very Important)
  4. Out of date clothes – Be careful with vintage pieces
  5. Outdated Makeup – throw out any makeup over 18 months old
  6. Huge Hair
  7. Knee highs and skirts
  8. Shiny stockings
  9. Dressing in a way that does not fit your age
  10. Too short pieces
  11. Underwear lines – should this be #1?

Is The Fashion Industry in Size Denial?

Have you ever asked yourself, how is it that we live in the 21st century but still apply traditions from decades ago toward size and fashion?  I have thought about that question often and is part of the inspiration behind Full Figure Plus.  Would it not be great to walk into a store knowing the buyers and advertisers were speaking directly to you and your fashion needs?

First let us look at the term plus-size.  Plus-Size is associated with women with little association of age, marital status or education level.  It is a marketing term to target a specific group, larger women, under specific circumstances.  If there were more marketers like me who look to speak to bread and butter customers looking for quality items of clothing at a reasonable price then there would be no need for size acceptance groups.
