The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency Features Plus Size Models

Most of you remember Janice Dickinson the so called first supermodel that was introduced to us on America’s Next Top Model and now has her own show “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” on the Oxygen network.  She is now trying to cash in on the void left my Mo’Nique with her reality show by introducing “plus size” models on her show.

According to the promo email that I was sent the Oxygen Channel which was purchased recently by NBC Universal said the following:

Hi Mo’Nique Fans!

Long time no speak. It’s been a crazy past few months, but we wanted to give everyone a heads-up about something that we all can appreciate. Plus-size women taking over the catwalk.

Tonight’s episode of “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” is going to be fierce. For the first time EVER plus-size models are a part of the agency. Rejoice! There’s finally enough room on the runway for women of all shapes and sizes.

On one side I am glad that models that are not size zero are being given a chance to strut their stuff before America, but my problem is the size of the ladies that have been chosen.  For some reason it seems that the modeling industry defines plus size as tall ladies with big breasts.  Don’t get me wrong as a man I like to look at ladies that fit into this category, but when it comes to plus size models I would prefer to see ladies that are larger walking the runway.

Janice Dickinson is known for her dislike of plus size models from the way she treated Toccara on Top Model so this move in my mind makes me think that her show has reached its saturation point and she is trying to come up with a gimmick for ratings.  It will work in part because bloggers like myself will write about it and ladies will tuned in to hopefully see if she really has plus size beauties on the show.

Alana Chandler, shown in the picture is one of the ladies that is featured that fits the stereotype of long legs and big breasts that the modeling industry calls plus size.  As you can see she is a beautiful young lady and I hope that her career takes off because of it and she is not to scared from the experience of dealing with Janice Dickinson.

What do you think about Janice Dickinson and the Oxygen channels move to add larger models to the lineup? I think that its a ratings move but mine is just one opinion. Would be nice to see ladies the size of Full Figure Plus spokesmodel Olga Gonzalez-Ramos or other larger women on the runway. All I can say is that progress has been made and leave it at that.

    Glen,
I have always enjoyed the Oxygen channel especially now that they have decided to show case plus size women.

As for Ms. Janice Dickinson, she was a natural beauty at one point, long time ago. She still looks great but her personality has got to go. Every woman has the right to to feel ‘Sexy’ at any SIZE. Who is Janice to speak ill of a woman that is full figure??? No one!!!

It’s not her fashion sense that disapproves; it seems she hates plus size women. She speaks about us as if we were lower than dirt and I for sure will not let anyone speak of me that way. She is far from perfect, she looks nothing like herself and she has had so much plastic surgery. So I am suppose to listen to someone talk about the ‘UGLY’ in a ‘fat’ girl while she is so insecure that she spends thousands of dollars on ‘plastic surgery’ to better herself. No, not me.

I can’t wait to see that show and I know for sure from a close source that the ‘plus size model’s ROCKED that show!!!!!!!

Glen, thanks for the support you know if I ever did one of those shows I would probably be the ‘biggest’ girl there but rest assure also the most confident, cool, and collective.

“Don’t hate me because I am ‘Fat’ and ‘BEAUTIFUL’”.

    I saw this episode

Janice was really mean to the plus size models she told them that they were ugly and that they needed to lose weight. She even went as far as to think about kicking them out of the house because she didn’t want her name with “plus size” It seemed like Janice was more upset because she felt like she had to struggle to stay a small size but the plus size models were perfectly happy being who they were. Janice was somewhat threatened by them.

She even insulted the editor of a magazine because she was a plus size girl and told her “how can I teach my daughter to be healthy when I have to endorse plus size?”

Overall her outlook on plus size women was really disapointing after hearing her talk about how she just wants her models to be the best they can be.

Even the other models were mean to the plus size models making remarks like “are you really going to live here?” and “there is a gym upstairs if you want to use it!”

I have decided to stop watching the show because it was so mean and shows exactly why women feel like they have to be sickly skinny to be beautiful.
