I have been talking about how Tyra Banks and others have been putting the spotlight on plus size models for a few weeks now. Yesterday on her talk show Tyra hosted several voluptuous ladies all in competition for the first ever Thick and Sexy Top Plus Size Model crown.
Celebrity judges included plus size model Mia Tyler, actor Josh Morrow and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard. Collectively they crowned Marguerite Brown the first Top plus size model.
Brown won a photo spread opportunity with new magazine Bombshell, a $1,000 shopping spree and a one-year contract with top modeling agency Wilhelmina Models.
I must say that I was surprised about the tie in between Trya Banks and Bombshell magazine which will be going to print next Spring. I am pleased that Tyra Banks not only gave plus size models a boost on her show but will be helping a plus size fashion magazine get its sea legs.
A few weeks ago when I wrote about the Bombshell model search I dropped a hint about this without actually realizing what was really going on. I guess you could say they dropped a bombshell. There MySpace page talks about there involvement as well, if you want more info check out there site.

I enjoyed the show also, I sent her an idea of having tall and full figured on her show. There are tall women over 6’1″tall and full figured. Tall is one problem being full figured is another. I enjoy both. But find it hard at times of finding clothes and dating. But I enjoyed the show…
