One thing that cannot be ignored is the surge in opportunities in the world of plus size modeling. The national exposure that came from Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance has spun off the Bombshell Model search and now the Voluptuous Woman Company with several others is hosting a plus size modeling workshop called Project Curves.
The Project Curves workshop will be held in at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA on October 21, 2006. Jennene founder of the Voluptuous Woman Company (VWC) was kind enough to contact me, thanks Jennene, to let me know about this event that will focus on educating those that are interested in getting into the world of plus size modeling.
There will be plenty of educational opportunites available to those that attend covering topics such as:

- Improv for Plus Models

- Fabulous and FIT!
- Rip the Runway
Early bird registration has already begun at a cost of $105. Registration for the event will continue until five days before the event. At that point the price will go up to $150. For the amount of information that is going to be available at this workshop it’s worth it to get your tickets early to secure your spot and save some money.
After the workshops there is going to be a Networking Social/Fashion Show which will give you the chance to meet other people in the industry as well as see a fashion show. This is something that would be of particular benefit to new comers to the modeling world.
It’s great to see more and more modeling opportunities like this coming out for plus size models. Also reading stories that countries like Spain are banning ultra thin models from there runways lets me know that it won’t be long before the next phase of modeling will for sure involve ladies and gentlenen of size.
